Bio

Wesley Konrad was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With his parents and two older sisters he would camp in the interior of B.C. every summer until his teens. His formative teen years were spent involved with Summer Camps. He has worked as a counsellor at Manitoba Pioneer Camp who's canoe camping program was developed by artist/filmmaker Bill Mason. He has also worked at Camp Arnes as a canoe trip leader, the waterfront co-ordinator and as an Outdoor Education Instructor.

Wesley has also worked as a tree planter in northern B.C. He has received training by Manitoba Ambulance as a First Responder and by St. John's Ambulance in Search and Rescue. He attended the University of Manitoba and studied in the Faculty of Science. He has worked in the publishing industry since 1994 and currently works for the consulting firm Lazer-fare Media Services. Wesley has been at newspapers from St. John's to Victoria as well as Alabama, Florida, Wisconsin and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The two most important days in Wesley's life include Canada Day 2001 when he became the husband to Helen and March 19 of last year when his son Edward was born. His family currently lives in Winnipeg's Wolseley area but he stays out of the mosquito debate. They are carless by choice and walk to most places, borowing/renting vehicles when necessary. Wesley enjoyed being a house husband for last fall and winter.

Helen works in pediatrics researching kidney transplants.

Wesley's Hobbies include camping, climbing, caving, sailing, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, cross country and downhill skiing, renovating their 90 year old house, and keeping a busy toddler out of trouble.
